Video of all of Grunkenmeyer's dropbacks at PSU

Initial thoughts are he has a lot of arm talent and great/quick decision making. While he's not "mobile" he moves around the pocket really well and doesnt immediately panic once facing pressure. Pretty incredible for a freshman. I think we have a really good talent for hopefully the next few years. ** Edited by VTStylez9 at 1/15/2026, 2:05:19 PM

Thx! Not surprisingly he's a work in progress, but the tools are there.

onus is all kinda ON on on, the oLine now! He reallllly needs a Big-X savvy

Yes yes and 100% yes, pressure is on Matt Moore to coach these guys up

AI had this tidbit on PFF grades for the 2025 O line

IF; we were the 52nd oLine in '25? Eye, b.street... will eat this post LIVE

Agree the OL needs to improve YOY but the 2025 QB1 situation amplified…
Hokiefied 01/16/26 10:13 AM ET
Some good, a few real good, some not so good, some bad**
Riverguy 01/15/26 03:23 PM ET
Looked like a talented but inexperienced QB**
Hokiefied 01/15/26 04:13 PM ET
I’m confused. I thought you throw the football at the receivers feet on…
Hokiefied 01/15/26 03:13 PM ET
throwing at the hands. easier for the D to INT. didn't you know that?**
Windows NT 01/15/26 04:16 PM ET
Yes, very confusing. Is that called ‘footwork’? :)**
V333T 01/15/26 03:22 PM ET
💯% pocket awareness... will play on sundays**
Windows NT 01/15/26 03:07 PM ET
Not yet. But pretty good for a frosh and he's got a few years to get there**
marcbvtgm 01/15/26 06:33 PM ET
Historically, Hokie starting qbs do not improve
Planner_Hokie 01/16/26 08:35 PM ET
Reminds me of Dave Meyer**

Go way back. I say a little of Will Furrer, but not a lefty...**
Hokie_N_NC 01/16/26 06:22 AM ET
I don’t recall him being that agile**
Hokiefied 01/15/26 03:17 PM ET
He's mobile, he's just not "dual threat". Reminds me of Collin Schlee **
Techsupport 01/15/26 02:23 PM ET
Much better passer than Schlee**
Hokiefied 01/15/26 03:16 PM ET
Of course, just talking about his style.**
Techsupport 01/16/26 07:51 AM ET
Hopefully much more durable.**
solareye 01/15/26 02:50 PM ET
Agree except I don't see much similarity to Schlee
marcbvtgm 01/15/26 02:42 PM ET
Hopefully he will not take the pounding of a typical "dual threat" QB.**
EDGEMAN 01/15/26 02:24 PM ET
Either can get hurt if the OL stinks. A pocket QB is a sitting duck. **
marcbvtgm 01/15/26 02:43 PM ET
Certainly not. We're gonna try the pocket QB offense (again)...
