I don’t have many good ideas. This won't change that.

But what can teams with first round byes do during that three week off stretch to change the mojo? Replicate spring game with a LIVE intra-squad scrimmage? Invite a school with no post-season play to practice/scrimmage against them? Would the NCAA even permit that? Travel to their game site super early for a change of vibe and just practice as usual? Take the team to a silent retreat where they drink Ayahuasca all day and get in touch with their competitive spirit? Sure...there is risk of injuries with the first two options...but is it worth it with the trend of these teams getting bounced early?

Right. No perfect solution. Playoff team would have to cover costs.**
