Let me explain. James has two college bound daughters. James has endured 11 years of Pennsylvania winters. He is 53 years old. He has struggled with recruiting from southern states due to the harsh cold weather in Pennsylvania. There are articles where he describes the difficulties of recruiting to a colder climate. Considering his family has endured 11 Pennsylvania winters, where the most recent winter was worse than normal, considering he is on the record with struggling with recruits due to cold climate, considering his daughters are about to go to college, where they could literally attend at any state in the country.....My guess is, he will take a warm-climate job. Florida Gators.....UCLA....or some other Southern State. He wants to win a championship next, and i'm sure he is thinking....the recruiting lift from a warm climate will give me an edge. Having fallen short at Penn State, he is looking for a job where he can close the deal, and this recruiting lift will appeal to his "process" and logical thinking at his next job. Don't forget, his wife is probably ready for warmer weather too! So Hokie fans....it's time to strike him off the list. It's not that the VT job or money is not good enough, it's just the wrong timing for Franklin in his career. The VT job in itself will have to Entice someone willing to Endure the Blacksburg climate. It is what it is. That said, there are plenty of candidates that would be a good fit, but none of these candidates should include grown up kids and an age already in the 50's. Think "wholesome" small town environment, where the coach's family can raise younger kids in a "safe small town environment". I'm thinking early-mid 40's with wife and kids under 12. So that's enough with the "James Franklin" talk. And any other coach in his 50's most likely. Factor that in. GO HOKIES!!!
