Not a popular take but...

At this point I'd take Monty and 2.5 a year with annual step ups plus massive incentives for hitting certain benchmarks than 8-10 million/year for someone like Jimbo or Franklin with huge buyouts and bigger expectations. Give the man a 3 year contract and see what he can do. He has taken a total dumpster fire and made it somewhat competitive. Turning this ship around is gonna take years and someone willing to put their nose to the grindstone. I'm not sure these flashy hires are gonna stick around if they are successful. How hungry are they?? In Monty I see a man ready to give his heart and soul to this program to make it a success. Great moments are made from Great Opportunity. And that's what we have here today boys....

You all have to get over this idea that we're going to go cheap on the HC

Wake me up when that money is actually in hand.
MP4VT2004 10/13/25 11:30 PM ET
Bingo. We will make a Buzz type splash hire before we go cheap on this.

My problem with Monte is that he's the OC and the O doesn't look good.

He doesn't have a QB that fits his scheme to be fair **

Program is at a cultural crossroads, and the next HC needs to define it...

are huge buyouts required as an industry standard?

Anyone who thinks the "published salary" is the whole salary is naive.

I wish that was an option but, without a bunch wins it just isn't
