Brent Pry hired on 11/2021. Since then recruiting has only gotten worse when we were promised improvement. We can't win without talent, and his efforts have lead to a gradual talent drain since he started. Recruiting Rankings on 247 2022 - 43 2023 - 44 2024 - 47 2025 so far - 50 Just like the performance of his unqualified personal friends as OC and DC, there appears to be no signs of improvement whatsoever, and things appear to be worsening. I made a satirical post last year about Pry possibly being a plant by PSU to improve PSU recruiting in VA by slowly ruining VT performance and recruiting. Part of the plan was to win just enough to prolong his tenure and VT's misery, but not enough to actually win any good recruits. At this point, I'm wondering if what was meant as a jest might actually be true. If you guys think things will be better next year, think again. Next year we lose 14 of 22 starters, with only 8 starters back total, and only 3 on the defense. We lose all our starting WR's and our starting RB, as well as 2 veteran OL. If you think our passing is inadequate this year, it will only get worse. If you think our defense is mediocre this year, next years defense will do its best imitation of a sieve. I suspect VT will win 5-6 games this year, but no more, possibly just enough to go to a bowl game they will lose, and just enough to allow Pry to keep his job. Things could definitely get worse, since BC is no longer a pushover this year, and even UVA is 3-1 so far. I also expect next season to be a bloodbath, and Pry to finally lose his job at year-end. At least the misery will be over.
