Not a huge sample size yet, but you can start to see trends. First, Virginia Tech is pretty darn average. We're #70 nationally in total offense and #61 in total defense. #61 in scoring offense and #72 in scoring defense. Our best unit is our passing defense, currently tied for #13 in the nation. Run defense, not so much: we're #114 nationally. As for other teams, some interesting stuff: Temple is dead last in turnover margin. The have 11 turnovers and zero takeaways. Yikes. Minnesota has 7 interceptions and has allowed 0 passing TDs so far. Wow. Miami has 6 picks and has allowed 0 passing TDs. Also wow. Cal leads the nation with 9 interceptions. Both VT and Rutgers are disciplined. Tech is #28 and Rutgers #29 in penalty yards per game. Pretty good. Cam Ward for Miami has been amazing so far. He's already passed for over 1000 yards and has 11 TDs and only 1 pick. Kyle McCord is averaging 367 passing yards per game for Cuse. Great portal pickup for the Orange. Ashton Jeanty for Boise is just crushing it with 229 yards per game rushing. Leads the nation in scoring. APR is tied for #3 nationally with 4.5 sacks already this season. As a team, VT is tied for #11 in sacks. We already have 10 sacks this season.
