Having more NFL talent on a college team is better than having less NFL talent....surely you would agree with that. Well, it just so happens.... that the players more highly ranked by the recruiting services make the NFL at higher rates than the lower ranked players. That doesn't mean more 4* players MAKE the NFL, it means they make it a higher per capita....meaning that rankings out of high school are, in the aggregate, a rough predictor of college success. Pay attention to this next part because it really seals the deal....historical results on the field have demonstrated this, in spades, since there have been recruiting services. I know that you don't watch the NFL, but if you start watching college football, you will realize this. That means....(drum roll)....that recruiting rankings are not BS. lol Here's another angle you also don't consider. A highly ranked recruiting class is an indicator of a coach's ability to SIGN THE PLAYERS HE TARGETS. We want our coaches to get the players that they want don't we? No coach in the upper echelons of college football has many 3* players at the top of his target board. So either they are all idiots, or maybe your logic is flawed.
