If any of the players were on their rookie contract, then the situation may not be that different. If a team decides to draft him in the Supplemental Draft, then the front office has to hope he remains "clean" through the 2027 NFL Draft. Otherwise, they will get a lot of heat from their fan base on why they "wasted" their 2027 draft pick on a player with a lot of red flags. Especially if they gave up a higher round pick to get him. Even if they make it through the 2027 Draft and he gets suspended afterwards, then they may still feel some heat because fans will speculate who the team could have selected in the 2027 Draft. Particularly if that player is a stud for another NFL team and he was available in the slot that was used in the Supplemental Draft. I believe the last time a player was drafted in the Supplement Draft was 2019 and there is a reason for it.
