I don't think a four star QB's potential is that much greater than a three star or a two star. A lot of QB's are evaluated on their height and arm strenghth BUT playing QB at the next level is more of a mental game. It requires quick processing skills and a lot of QB's cannot read defenses, go through multiple progressions and relase the ball quickly. Youtuber Scott Fisher goes back and reviews the top QB's from various classes and many of them are busts. I linked the 2016 class video below but he usually covers the top 10 five stars. Justin Herbert was a three star in 2016, Mac Jones and Kenny Pickett were both 3 stars in 2017 and Dillion Gabriel was a 3 star in 2019. STETSON BENNETT AND FERNANDO MENDOZA WERE BOTH TWO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd consider trading Tech's class with ODU's if we are evaluating teams based on on-field results. ODU kicked the crap out of Tech last year and they compete well with Tech. PSU also wasn't very good last year and that's why Franklin got fired. There is more upside potential between a high three star and a low three star BUT there are still plenty of busts. Upwards of 40% of these guys will not contribute per year. Bayshul Tuten and Marcellous Hawlins were both UNRATED. Kamari Copeland was a two star. There are plenty of low-rated players who will contribute because RECRUITING RANKINGS ARE BS!
