But I don’t remember the team we were playing. I do remember giving Beamer credit for playing for the win rather than worrying about keeping the scoring streak alive. It was late in a game that we were losing & had not scored, yet. We had the opportunity to kick an easy FG but really needed a TD to have a chance of winning. Sorry for my lack of details. I don’t recall the team. I just recall Beamer opted to throw the ball needing a sizable pickup, so it was risky, w/a backup QB in the game to try & keep the drive alive. The back up completed the pass & we went on to score. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the team or if we won or not. I just recall being happy that Beamer cared more about the win than making sure the streak continued. The back up QB, whoever he was, never did get much playing time but can take pride in playing his part in keeping the streak alive.
