I still think the only way for schools like VT to get ahead of this
looming disaster in the long run (what the BOV is doing with Hokie Ventures is just a short to mid-term fix) is for the ACC and Big 12 to merge leaving out a few non-competitive schools like wake forest, UCF, and Cincinnati and form it own super conference. It would span most of the country and over time, although not immediately, have its own 'power' programs' to complete with some of the Big 10 and SEC schools and generate more revenue for all.
