This is 10 years of data for regular season games 2015-2025, with the abnormal 2020 filtered out).
The SEC and BIG played a significantly higher number of G5 schools in that time period. And a lot of them were bad G5 schools. You are absolutely correct that the P2 reputation is built on a foundation of G5 games.
