Do you know how are "targets" determined?

is it incompletions? Or is it like calling errors vs hits in baseball, you know subjective? How are things like OL breakdowns when a rusher is in the QBs sight line to the read #1 receiver right off the snap?

Which VT Player would you bet is taken first in this weekend's NFL Draft?
Painterboy 04/23/25 03:44 PM ET
Tuten for sure. **
Zanderhokie 04/24/25 10:27 PM ET
Peebles will go first for VT**

J-Lane (gettin Eddie Royal vibes) --> Tuten --> Peeples --> Strong

It depresses me to see and think of the large number of drafable

Coaching matters. It's not simply talent acquisition.**
NokieHokie 04/24/25 01:22 PM ET
I’m thinking Tuten, followed by Lane, followed by APR. **
BEST2VT 04/24/25 09:38 AM ET
Aren't APR and Peebles going to be in this draft?
ChrisLords 04/24/25 12:39 AM ET
Tuten goes first; maybe 2nd round, most likely 3rd. APR and some others go

I would be surprised if anyone other than Tuten is selected **
XundaVT 04/23/25 04:51 PM ET
You haven't been paying attention.**
BG Hokie 04/24/25 09:41 AM ET
I'd be quite surprised if no one other than Tuten is selected.**
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 09:11 AM ET
Agree. Seems we had several very good players last year,
BEST2VT 04/24/25 10:15 AM ET
Lane will be picked IMO**

Which is crazy (not because he isn't worthy) but because

KCHokie2 04/24/25 07:17 PM ET
If you don't have long drives, you don't have as many opportunities
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 09:19 AM ET
We threw 37 times against Syracuse...
VAHokie89 04/24/25 11:20 AM ET
Umm, VT only threw the ball 24 times @ Syr last year. And ran it 48, so...
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 04:22 PM ET
We threw it 24 times against Syracuse and 37 against Clemson.

VTCALS72 04/25/25 06:40 AM ET
The question is, was he open or covered…
ombandit 04/25/25 04:25 AM ET
I'm saying he was under-utilized.
Chris ColemanAdmin 04/25/25 04:33 AM ET
Or maybe Lane was the focus of D's?
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 04:27 PM ET
Exactly**
ombandit 04/25/25 04:26 AM ET
Yes, but ultimately he only averaged 38.8 yards per game.
Chris ColemanAdmin 04/24/25 04:30 PM ET
He caught 19% of VT receptions. That's not much less than other top ACC WRs
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 04:58 PM ET
I agree that didn't maximize the skills of the receivers, for sure.
Chris ColemanAdmin 04/24/25 05:14 PM ET
It's not as though Lane is a 1st rounder. He's got skills, but flaws too.
marcbvtgm 04/25/25 11:44 AM ET
Thanks for reversing/correcting my numbers :)
VAHokie89 04/24/25 12:33 PM ET
I’ve always said he was our best offensive player.
GCHokieof91 04/23/25 07:21 PM ET
So you would have used Tuten less and Lane more?
marcbvtgm 04/24/25 09:13 AM ET
Different position. Not on the same scale.
GCHokieof91 04/24/25 09:16 AM ET
It's a zero sum game unless you make the pie bigger. How would you do that?**
