Perhaps, but I also think it's Cignetti - looks like a once in a generation

master motivator and leader. Indiana hit the lottery - and sometime it takes luck to win. I am not sure this can be duplicated as a model. Lane Kiffin, Ryan Day, Dan Lanning, even Kirby Smart - all these highly regarded coaches have not even come close to what Cignetti has done this year, even with their 3-4 5 star and 25-30 4 star player rosters. Clemson did a similar thing when they stumbled into Dabo - they found that guy who could really get through to the players and get them motivated unlike anyone else in CFB (Saban could too but at that time he had endless resources and used them to their full potential). Indiana looks unstoppable right now because they are motivated, playing as a team, and focused unlike any other team (although Miami is playing at the highest level too). They are the anti Texas Tech.

Just remember. This is an outlier. At least for now.

Yup. Whatever they did, they figured out the secret sauce.**

Recruiting rankings are BS! Trinidad Chmbliss was UNRATED.

And that, in part, is what makes me smile.

Yeah I think the 5-star, 4-star, 3-star rating is antiquated.**
hokiedad25 01/10/26 11:06 AM ET
People pay way too much attention to HS stars in this era
marcbvtgm 01/10/26 10:46 AM ET
Ratings mean nothing after 1 or 2 years of college football

Age/dev > hs stars?**

For some reason I think they will lose to Miami....**

Show me a weak spot Miami can exploit. **

Its almost all about team chemistry; stars are secondary.**

They are changing the sport and the coaching profession.**

Cignetti and Indiana may be showing most of the power 4 how to do it now
hokiedad25 01/10/26 11:09 AM ET
Considering there has been so much talk about Indiana buying their team in
Hoakie82 01/10/26 12:06 AM ET
That’s impressive if those numbers are accurate. If you added those 4 teams
Hoakie82 01/09/26 11:51 PM ET
we've only had 5 5* in our history.**
