I doubt it. They might be more competitive, but it's still a zero sum game.
Many folks never seem to realize this when some team gets hot for a week, month, or season. None of the bottom half of the SEC is going to sit back and just watch Vandy take their place. Somebody's got to lose SEC games and way more often than not Vandy is still going to get the short end of the stick.
