The difference is Ole Miss players were officially in the transfer portal.

They were already approved to transfer. They were not in class, not practicing with the team, not in team meetings. That's what makes this one unique, Clemson LB was not in transfer portal and was in classes. Again, he was not in the transfer portal. True tampering by head coach Golding. He texted the player several times and texted him the contract while in class. OM was warned by Clemson several times to stop pursuing student, stop tampering, but OM coach Golding disregarded and continued to aggressively get him to enter transfer portal on last day. It appears Golding and OM in trouble with NCAA coz this was blatant violation of Bylaw 13.1.1.4, possibly Level 1 since Golding offered money. ** Edited by carhokies at 1/24/2026, 12:00:44 PM
