This is the BIG risk when you "buy" a team.....
Money unfortunately is necessary to compete consistently in today's college football but its not the guarantee you will succeed. That's why all the budget news at VT could be a huge bear trap. The decisions being made now about coaches, AD, GM, facilities, etc. sounds like good news and its definitely at least on paper what's needed. This is such a critical time that unlike Penn State who can simply reload $$$, if VT stumbles on these decisions or they simply don't work out there won't be any future debate about P2/P4/G5 and where VT belongs. The economic realities will leave VT with no options and only choices to downsize the program.
