IU is just precise in everything they do.....
Disciplined. In control of their emotions. Fundamental sound. Just the watch the way they tackle....wrap up the legs and take them to the ground. Not trying to make highlight hits. They are just impressive and they have talent layered into all of that.

FCS pregame. Is it cynical mindset due to mess that is FBS or.....
Do things just seem more about football. The game. The band, etc. I feel like I'm going to watch young men who want to win the game and aren't concerned with NIL and the portal and all the slime stuff that goes with FBS. I realize its more about rose colored glasses but it just feels different.

Players want to be part of the new era until.told they won't be...
As other responders have noted: the official date1/2; thinking it through with family during holidays; evaluations not complete.
I also think players see what could be at VT and want to be part of the buzz and no one wants to declare for the portal too quickly. As others stay the numbers will grow but for a change not because they are escaping a failed program but because they won't be selected to be part of a successful future.
And oh yeah.....money will be driving decisions too.

Army vs Navy game....fantastic.
Besides honoring the brave and selfless who serve this country this game has real student athletes who want to win. No worrying about NIL or posting on social media after the game. Throw in the wonderful and inspiring pre game ceremonies and this has now assumed the title of most enjoyable game to watch FOOTBALL. The game was always special but I think we all appreciate it even more given the changes in the rest of the sport.

More annoying than the too loud piped in music. Put those two together and it makes for an awful in person experience. I know...."get off my grass"....but can anyone honestly say those two things add to the game experience? Really? I don't even like to see the flashing lights on TV.

Always the issue....somebody going to be left out.
4 teams? 8 teams? 12 teams? The argument will never end. Who is left out at the bottom end. Always going to be 2-4 teams minimum that belly ache and fans moan about the methodology. Expand to 32 teams and will be the same argument.
Maybe the current format gets the top 4 correct but one could certainly say the BCS computers were just as good. The current committe makes the old BCS computers look the Terminator cyborg. Highly efficient and focused.
I think the debate about who gets in when you have only 4 teams is much more interesting and valued than arguing about spots 11 and 12 with this format.

He didn't need to bash but the opposite is to say it had no effect...
Makes you suspect as to is he oblivious or making it worse by saying no effect. Granted he was asked the question so not saying he had to admit anything without being asked. He should have simply said we fell short on many aspects of our game plan. Saying it had no effect is saying it did. It highlighted his unwillingness to try something, anything, different during the game. It actually.made things worse for Drones because its easier for people to blame him. I blame the coaches because quite simply they didn't coach at all.

Just listened to Monty presser from last night. I understand coach "speak".
But he said qb play wasn't a big factor last night????? Stat line 3-16-2 isn't a factor? Give slack on O line troubles but give me a break. There is more to this story. For 8 weeks I was a fan of Monty but last night lack of trying ANYTHING different in an effort to win or at least be respectable was totally bewildering. Makes zero sense. Monty probably doesn't care but he evaporated all the goodwill he had not because we lost but the way the coaches coached the game. To me he also badly damaged his own resume as well again not by losing but by being stubborn and unimaginative.

My theory....Witt has buyout too so I think it was negotiated....
That he is able to leave in June. Maybe even retire. Either way he can exit with some of the stain of football incompetence he was responsible for has faded. Apparently he had a small role in Franklin process so he can exit stage left and claim partial credit for that achievement.
Honestly it did lesson the chaos not to fire the AD at same time as football coach. Was a favor to Whit by Sands.

They have scored to close the gap on Alabama. The COACHES are trying to win as opposed to what VT had tonight.

Tony Elliot is delusional. 20 of 22 starters are seniirs/grad but hardly..
NONE he developed. Other teams have done it but his bragging about "culture" is a farce. We will have a "money team" next year and I hope Franklin hangs a 100 on their "culture".

The situation but questioned some play calling and qb decision. I'm officially now on the train Monty is an OC for good reason and maybe not a very good one. This insanity has consumed his goodwill with many of us but it also reflects badly in his prospects going forward. Other coaches and colleges see what we see. Bad qb decisions for no good reason.

Good coaches adapt to the talent they have and don't call plays they cant..
Execute. Changing qb's won't allow us to win but if what you are doing fails again and again and again then trying something different is smart not desperate. It would be different if this was game one or two but at this point you KNOW it ain't going to work try something different.

Backpeddle for a bigger loss. You see it and slide sideways and at least throw it away. He simply froze in reverse. Yes, the line let them through but Drones just freezes up and he's been doing it all year. Good kid. Bad qb.

The only remaining chance is a perfect game going forward which means chance=ZERO.
I APPRECIATE WHAT Monty has done except sticking with Drones to the end. It's not helping Drones....whatever value he had is diminished and his chances at next level go from 1% to negative 50%
