Sometimes is *how* you lose. I grew up in the 90's and enjoyed the run.

I also sat through the end of the Beamer years when we struggled to get to 6 wins. Even into the Fu years we were all blissfully unaware of the rot happening in the program. Now it's not just that we're losing most of our games, or that our team has lost 6 out of our last 7 games, or that we are likely only favored over ODU, WF and Wofford, or that we haven't beaten a team from a major conference at home since 2009... It's that we see and have seen the rot in the program and the inner ineptitude. We don't want to wait it out and see if we can "get by" this season....maybe get to 6 or 7 wins with a major turnaround (one that has yet to happen for several years) only to likely do the same thing all over again next year. Sure there could be a light switch that turns on and everything clicks and we become "good". But maybe I'm jaded because of being hopeful like yourself year after year after year....and getting burned. I want VT to be a good team. I want them to turn it around and beat not just the Woffords and Old Dominions of the world, but also teams that are in the middle to top half of college football....and that isn't something we have been able to do.
