THis is big business, not local high school football
No its reality
1. Professional fund raisers and positions . Professionals make 60-80k at the start not some local clerk from the area. thats one point
2. Recruiting staffs scout the entire nation, they are data analysts who assess the market and determine who is good, they use national daa management services (that most all of power 2 uses easily over 100k a year. plus team who asses the data and makes recommendations to contact candidates then give the staff the target the recruit.
3. Management of Nil, knowing value of players negotiations with agents (i.e. famillies) its not give a bag.
But the biggest thing is a value of a national uiniversity is its total value of athletics academics and R&D. Eadh school are 1-2 billion dollar industries and they are all integrated. and also what do many of folks think of the value of the degree from VT. Right now the degree is delivering top notch entry salaries for VT graduates and in some fields highest in the state. WIth value comes branding, all soft words to local small business. and this goes into AAU and being grouped with the top elite programs. and yes there is difference in reputation from some schools than others,.
SO is VT a major land grant, equal to PSU Purdue NC State clemson, or coastal carolina, ODU east ten state. It is a 35 plus enrollment and the largest employer in the region.
