2022: No. 51 2023: No. 56 2024: No. 61 2025: No. 30 Duke's 2025 class ranked highly, but that's because they took 28 high school kids when most other schools are taking fewer high school players. That's one of the reasons Tech ranks so low, BTW. We only took 20 high school players in 2025. Plenty of the schools ranked ahead of us took 25+. Also, I don't know where you got your numbers for VT's rankings, but if you used 247, they are incorrect. Here are the 247 composite (the default numbers that 247 displays) for VT in those years... 2022: No. 35 2023: No. 39 2024: No. 45 2025: No. 40 High school recruiting rankings are a pretty terrible way to evaluate talent levels these days. Rankings have always been questionable anyway, and since the overall numbers are heavily weighted towards quantity, it makes it even worse. Some teams hardly recruit high school. Some recruit high school a lot. Some are in the middle. It throws the recruiting rankings out of balance. If you spend much time evaluating high school recruiting rankings, you are making yourself a less smart fan, IMO. They just aren't valid anymore. I agree with your overall sentiment about Pry not winning enough games, but it doesn't have anything to do with high school recruiting, and it has everything to do with coaching.
