It seems that to a lot of fans, the game itself is secondary-the

party atmosphere is what is most important. Doing whatever is necessary to get on the Jumbotron and taking selfies to post on social media is the primary focus. And this is not just the younger fans. Middle aged and above people are doing it, too. The volume of the music is just downright obnoxious. My ears are ringing after each stoppage of play due to the over amplified music and microphones used for the fan games, etc. I’ll admit that I’m old and nostalgic. I miss the atmosphere that used to exist in Lane and Cassell-the one where people were there to cheer on the team. Those days have passed and, in my opinion, will never return. I think it’s about time for me to stop attending live games and simply watch from the comfort of my living room. Change is inevitable, but not all change is for the better. In my opinion, and this is MY opinion (I understand if people disagree as it is their right), the new landscape of college sports, including the atmosphere in the stadiums and arenas, has damaged what was once a great experience.
