As a NoVa resident and UM alum, I'm always interested to hear what you all think of our program -- the good and the bad. Your view of your own program is not that different from how we have thought about our program for year, prior to last year. Like us, VT doesn't have the blue blood entitlement approach to basketball, compared to several of our ACC brethren, and it's refreshing to read your thoughts about how to grow a program. We are riding high at the moment, but it's so hard to reach that level of sustained success -- three years ago, the FBI was pursuing a bogus investigation of Coach L and our program, our recruits seemed to have attitudes and were constantly underperforming and transferring out of the program, and there was lots of discussion about how the game had passed Coach L by. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for letting me gain some insight into into how our Canes are viewed outside (i) the South Florida press, and (ii) the national media (who have really been scrambling to understand our program). I don't expect all of you to like us, and I'll resist the urge to correct some of the misperceptions and incorrect statements -- our fanbase (especially on the football side) certainly has them about VT. For the moment, we are just happy to have others talking about our program! And good luck to the women's team tonight -- I'll be watching!
