Lol, dude that's a lot of words you're trying to put in my mouth. Let me
handle your "points" one at a time.
1) The focus on football is never going to be "complete." College football has been for the last 30 years an ever-changing scenario that takes *constant* and *continuous* focus to succeed at. It's a pure fallacy to think otherwise.
2) That means that in order to be successful at basketball VT *must* be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. In fact, your original post was not about what VT can do, but about what VT should do. It was your advice for everyone here to just wait around until things are "stable" to try to compete in bball. So live with it. And it's terrible advice because nothing is every "stable."
3) I'm bitter not just about VT basketball. I'm bitter because my hard-earned money that I invested (see, that's the word *you* chose as if no one has invested in VT athletics) has been squandered by the ne'er-can-dos that were put in charge over decades. But not only have they squandered the investment, they've actually mistreated and disrespected the actual investors they had over time in many ways.
4) I never, at any point in my life and certainly not in this discussion, suggested that bball should be prioritized over football. That would be foolish, and I'm not foolish. So don't misrepresent what I said.
What I'm saying is that if you want people to buy season tickets and invest in any college athletic program, whether bball or football or softball or wrestling -- it doesn't matter -- then you had better provide focus, competence and accountability. It's not a pick-and-choose situation. They are either unimportant and you don't ask for anything from anyone, or they are treated with importance and the investors treated with respect.
That is actually how to run an athletic department. Or any organization for that matter. Not ignore things and ask for money and tell people you'll take care of things later.
