For sure...and after time outs they've come out with different players

Taking the ball out. Avdalas has done it before but he turned it over. Id like to see Bedford take it out sometime but he's also the hardest (along with Hammond) to stay in front of and deny the ball so you lose some of that But most of the time it's after a basket and you don't want any confusion on who is taking it out

Question for @GCHokie34 - What are you seeing against the press
Hokie Chief 01/28/26 10:16 AM ET
I cant give specifics without going back and watching
GCHokie34 01/28/26 10:30 AM ET
FYI, here's a decent video on L-cuts if you're not sure what I mean

Too many catch and turn away from defenders, cuts off field of vision

Great insights on this. Good example

The 4 always takes the ball out
GCHokie34 01/28/26 11:43 AM ET
wouldn't neo be a good option to inbounds the ball
VermontDDS 01/28/26 12:16 PM ET
Exactly!! You must hear me screaming this at the end of games…
VTKev80 01/28/26 12:39 PM ET
I don’t get the “4 always take it out”? Is that just CMY system?
hokiepro 01/28/26 11:51 AM ET
No, that's pretty standard in college basketball
GCHokie34 01/28/26 11:57 AM ET
Understand re: reducing confusion but teams also
hokiepro 01/28/26 12:13 PM ET
I like a guard as the inbounder fo the reason you stated.

At least last night Bedford was in the game.
chagerma 01/28/26 04:41 PM ET
Non participation of a player can be for many reasons, not just injury.
saret 01/28/26 05:33 PM ET
There are times I don't think the decision is based on basketball merit
GCHokie34 01/28/26 05:15 PM ET
Interesting....but perhaps also to the detriment of the team goal, a win.**
chagerma 01/29/26 10:00 AM ET
Under 1:00 clock stops after makes so IMO it should be first player to take

"start your cut as the referee is handing your teammate the ball". Won't .
MidloHokie 01/28/26 11:35 AM ET
We were coached to never throw OVER the D without at least a low (bounce)
hokiepro 01/28/26 11:34 AM ET
I don't like throwing over the defense either
GCHokie34 01/28/26 11:45 AM ET
Doesn’t look like we screen vs press.
hokiepro 01/28/26 12:01 PM ET
Screening takes up time and you want to pull defenders away from help
GCHokie34 01/28/26 12:10 PM ET
Yes goes to the point of starting when given the ball by ref
hokiepro 01/28/26 12:23 PM ET
The longer the ball is on the air the more likely a fumble or deflection
hokiepro 01/28/26 11:55 AM ET
Schutt is very weak with the ball at the end. I see no reason that he
