Im sure he did...

A big part of Neo's development is getting coached. Hes going to be coached hard and if the staff isnt showing him his mistakes then theyre doing him a disservice in his development. I dont gather that MY is the type of coach who would shy away from those conversations I get why other people are seemingly upset with Avdalas. I think a lot of that is because of misplaced expectations, but that doesnt mean I find Avdalas without fault. That's far from the case. I think he takes too many possessions off. I think he trusts his ability to take over games too much that it doesn't bother him early on to play possessions half-hearted thinking hell just make it up with a great play later. I think he sometimes takes the flashy play over the right play (though not always, he does a pretty good job of taking what is given to him). Those are all consistent with a 19 year old regardless of talent level. The problem is that it can mean he has gotten away with more because he is so talented that he hasn't had to work through the issues. That's what he is going through right now at PG. He hasn't had to deal with what comes with being the primary option...so he is learning how to use that to his advantage Most of the time he picks the right option...sometimes he doesnt. The times he didnt came up big in a close game. That isnt a referendum on him, the team or MY...just something that happened that they need to work on and improve if they want to be the best version of themselves. And the best version of VT is absolutely Neoklis Avdalas figuring out the PG piece of the equation

We don't have good spacing. The screens and hand-offs make it hard

He is learning. PG for one and being "the Man" for another

If Neo were a polished PG he'd already have been drafted last year...

I think youre spot on with your assessment of him seeking the "moment"

There's not a shadow of doubt Hammond is a better PG on 1/9/26

I mean...they did that
GCHokie34 01/09/26 07:48 PM ET
Part of that is because of how teams play him vs. others.
