The bird in the hand approach is emotional in this era.
I don't have a problem with any of these three guys coming. But I think bringing them back this is more reflective of Mike Young clinging to what he is comfortable for him, i.e. having guys in his system for multiple years, than it is in putting together the most competitive team for VT in the NIL era.
