I don't think I can possibly know that...

You can have the best plans in the world but if you're not getting then what they're worth then they're (rightfully) going to leave I don't know MY or the assistants personally so I don't know what their messaging is or how it would land. I think you can retain players with NIL alone, but it's much easier to do when you have NIL, a plan, and a proven track record. FWIW, Matt Painter is a system coach like MY, so I don't buy the notion that being a system coach precludes you from being successful in the NIL/transfer space
