How are you making that jump from my post? I never said top 20 in revenue

That would require an extra $40m per year. That kind of money is only coming from large media contracts (BIG and SEC, which are football driven). I'm happy to discuss what I actually wrote, but your statement is something that I very clearly did not write. We are talking actual revenue numbers, potential revenue of each sport, value vs investment, and what is the right business decision for the athletic department. Yes we all know that an extra $5m spent on basketball will benefit that sport far more than if it were spent on football. But things have gotten so much more complicated in college sports with a lot of uncertainty about future costs on the athlete side (pending court decisions on the settlement and other topics) and uncertainty about future revenue on the ACC side (pending ESPN contract decisions and court cases with FSU/Clemson). VT is forced to think as a business and football investment is the safe path among all this uncertainty. And it is the only path that might keep us in the P2/P4 mix going forward.
