I don't think my comment really had anything to do with talent to be

honest. I said they weren't winners. And none of them, IMO, were main contributors to the teams they were on. I'd be willing to listen to an argument on Cone and N'Guessan, but Bamisile and Ojiako either didn't play on winning VT teams or were basically just along for the ride. Still my big issue is with CMY's caveman lawyer routine re: Aluma and Cattoor and their rankings. Neither was ranked highly (or ranked at all) by recruiting services, which is why he was able to recruit them to Wofford. If they were 4 star recruits, they don't go to Wofford. And it was then in turn easy for him to recruit them to VT; I'm sure the ACC was beyond either's wildest dreams. And I'm equally sure he was high on both of them, but the reality is that he took them because he needed bodies. If he could have pulled in a 4 star center and a 4 star wing instead of Aluma and Cattoor he would have. And that's backed up by the fact that he has recruited players exclusively MUCH higher rated than either of them since he has been at VT. But a bird in the hand, etc. So, either it is a total coincidence that this ranking system to just happens to totally jive with the recruiting services ranking systems over the past three years or maybe his internal ranking system at VT is a lot different than the one he was using at Wofford. Either way, Aluma and Cattoor to VT has nothing to do with the ranking services missing on their evaluations (or just not doing them) and everything to do with him not having much better options at the time. "I don't care about rankings" "I think Aluma a negative-two star and he turned out to be a pretty good player" "Hunter Cattoor, on that website, that uh 2 9 7 recruiting thang. He didn't have a picture, he was a watermark, alright. He was one thousand five hundred and ninety seven, his ranking. I didn't care." "Don't tell me he's a 3-star, don't tell me he's a 4-star. I'll create my own star system.... These are guys we think can help us win." I'm sure we're all excited to get back to recruiting unranked prospects and 2 stars. I'm not sure when that will be, maybe in another 10 years? I guess his ranking system for some reason is just filtering those players out right now. But the next time he grabs one, I'm sure it will be more like Aluma and less like Jalen Haynes.

Don't read too much into Coach's comment, it's not like only 2 star players

Isn’t this the epitome of a “system coach” approach?**

I'll go the opposite way. I get really tired of CMY's
