...which is why its hard to take it seriously when some argue they have

"maxed out" its revenue potential. VT hasn't "maxed out" any area of mens basketball for quite some time...fan engagement, effective donor cultivation, NIL opportunities, promotions...the list goes on and on and includes the arena itself. Maybe they are trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy for replacement...but you can't max out revenue capacity of a building when you don't even open its available concession windows and don't address minor, expected maintenance/aesthetics issues that would hardly break the bank to maintain/upgrade. I understand some of the associated issues related to staffing concessions and they are much harder to solve than many on here assume so I'm not trying to just lob grenades at the athletic department here. However, communication from someone...anyone?...could go a LONG way. If you treat one of the two sports with revenue potential as barely significant enough to support programmatically...don't be surprised when people match that energy with insignificant personal support as well. Combine all of that with the program's unchecked administrative "personality" since 2019 and none of this should be surprising. It's such a shame. And has created a terrible environment in which to make wise decisions about future support and infrastructure.
