His development will accelerate in the NBA But more importantly the biggest payday for NBA players is their second contract. With your expiration date finite on the back end of your career, delaying the 2nd contract only means cutting off a lucrative year on the back end of your career VT isn't competing with a rookies first year of their contract...they're competing with what they would make in the prime of their career as they can only get to those contracts after completing their rookie contract
