These boards have devolved into a bunch of people just sitting around and wallowing in their own misery. First, people didn't actually think we'd get him. Now they think he'll tear an ACL, somehow not make it here, or whatever. Oh, but why is he coming here? Nobody would every pick Virginia Tech over Baylor! We suck, we're never going to sign another good recruit again, and in five years we'll be playing D2 ball, so why would he come here? Blah, blah, blah. I get it, because things have been mostly crap for 15 months. But at the same time...come on. Don't be so bleak all the time. Some people act like they actually enjoy it! It makes me not want to come here, which is unfortunate, because coming here is my job, haha. Hopefully Avdalas signing will be a shot in the arm for some people. Virginia Tech can do good things if it hires the right people and properly supports them. We aren't automatically destined for futility. Funny thing is, I think Lancelot Link was probably joking in his response. But so many other people have been saying the same stuff over the last month, and it's secretly pissed me off, so my natural reaction was to lash out.
