Look at data...
Find what players are within what you're looking for. It narrows it down considerably.
Then watch film and find out if the film is telling the same story as the stats.
Then call people close to the prospect and see if they would be a good fit culturally.
You can skip through some steps if you knew the prospect either through playing against them (Long), recruiting them previously (Beran) or both (Nickel)
