This is too big of a pond for VT right now.

Tech would fall into the next step down, maybe 2 steps down right now. Really where uva and Tech need to succeed in NIL is at the player retainment level. Reece Beekman is the perfect example. A guy who would be an nba draft pick last year in the second round got comparable money to come back. He still ended up in the same slot but uva would probably be a 10 win team without him. Same goes for Ryan Dunn - does he get something comparable to first year nba contract to come back? Remains to be seen. Uva and Tech with good nil isn’t going to get top 25 players. Sure it will get them into more recruiting battles but especially w uva, guys are gonna have to want to go to go uva and Tech, which is the case today. But they will be able to keep those 50-75 range players around for 3 or 4 years with solid nil programs. That’s where NIL will make a major difference for the two programs.
