1. Player retention and roster development are necessary for the system to work and CMY has really struggled with this. 2. For the most part, the roster is filled with decent to good basketball players. However, the general sense is that everyone seems a half a step slow on both ends of the court. It shows up on defense (bottom of the league) and it shows up on the 3 point game more often than not, both in getting to "the spot" and in getting the ball to "the spot." I don't think CMY is a bad coach, but he definitely needs to figure out how to build his roster year over year without perpetually "filling gaps." And I know this is the way of College Basketball right now, but that only means you have to make adjustments to compensate. Just my thoughts. I recognize this is a nuanced conversation and that many people have good perspectives on it.
