That's a rationalization. VT should be stronger in hoops than Liberty.

Liberty makes NCAAT, VT doesn't... it's because CUSA is a weaker league and thus easier to win. VCU makes NCAAT, VT doesn't... it's because VCU spends all their $$$ on hoops and doesn't have to support football. (Insert B10 or SEC team here) makes NCAAT, VT doesn't... it's because those leagues are stronger than the ACC and generate more football revenue. So, in summary: -Being in a stronger league is bad when comparing the ACC to CUSA, but it's good when comparing the ACC to the B10 or SEC -Having football hurts VT's ability to financially compete against "baskeball schools" that don't have football, but football money also makes B10 and SEC schools more competitive against VT hoops. It's circular logic.
