Teams have different needs and opinions on players...

Most teams value familiarity on both ends...a team's familiarity with a player and the player's familiarity with the playbook, concepts, organization, etc. Some teams want a specific type of player to complement what they are missing or someone in the same line as their starter in case the starter goes down Sometimes people just miss an evaluation... For instance, I know of one coach who passed on Mac McClung so that he could land Jon Kabongo...pure craziness
