You're right.....

it doesn't make one an exceptional coach but, it more than likely proves they are more than mediocre or a solid mid-major coach. You spout CMY's ACC regular season record. Do you know the regular season records of all the other ACC coaches during Young's tenure? How about the regular season record of other P5 coaches? It's fine to have an opinion/take but, it is also helpful to have a relative understanding of the peer group.
