It was the moment it hit me that our football program

had established itself as belonging among the upper tier of college football. It was an entry point to a level we had never been at, established from the momentum of a program defining game we would traditionally not win and fail to take the next step up. But we pulled it out and put an exclamation point on a pretty incredible season. We did much the same by closing our ACC basketball run as the ACC champions. We didn’t choke during that run. Very similar to the 1995 football season when we lost the first 2 games and then closed the season undefeated. When it looked like we were about to choke at UVa in the final regular season game, we didn’t.
