I always thought of Laz as a professional play-by-play guy, not a homer.

To me Laz was a decent enough announcer and had the energy level to be someone who'd be appropriate for network coverage but not doing games for one specific team. I never got the impression that he was a Hokie and he seemed to be more concerned about the mechanics of announcing (or listening to his own voice) than making a connection with the fans. I'm out of the area and don't listen as much as I did in the Roth/Burnop glory days, so I didn't listen as much as most Hokie fans do now.

Mike did not have to cringe at the mistakes that Laz makes. **

Much better than Laz. My opinion. Laz makes a ton of mistakes and is much

I really liked Laz, kinda snarky, but genuinely seemed to dislike UUa.**

Laz was just too much. Seemed like he was trying to hard.
