Defending isn't a 1-on-1 thing

There were instances where Beran "X'd" out to cover the roll on a ball screen and Poteat rotated to his own matchup instead of completing the switch...then it was an easy dump down and 2 points. Is that on Beran? It is his man scoring, technically, but Poteat is the one who messed up. Other times the wings in the corner don't tag the roll man and he gets position putting the posts in no-mans-land. Did Beran/Kidd/Poteat technically let them score? Yep, but even if they performed their role perfectly they were going to be playing from behind. Robbie is consistently in the right position, making the right decisions away from the ball defensively. On the ball he has guarded players 1-5 with success. So yes, he defended well tonight
