Hey Stud - Big Cat here. I was at the Dayton game.

While Basille has a lot of skill offensively, is not the defensive presence Aluma was nor is he is good a rebounder. But to your point, we do have a lot more depth inside this year. I hope you are doing well man! 👍

I honestly think that this year's team may end up being better than ...

He’s not as good defensively as keve. Not yet anyway. **

Basile is close to as good as Aluma but TBD as he sees an ACC schedule all

We desperately need a backup PG. Hoping Rice can come along and fill that
King of Hokies 12/08/22 01:26 PM ET
We are not desperate - Catoor can handle PG.
Walkin` Willie 12/08/22 01:45 PM ET
He isn't bad, but he's not a PG.**
King of Hokies 12/08/22 01:52 PM ET
Right - but we aren't deperate and it looks like Rice is close to playing.

An experienced basketball guy who hangs out here has told you that Rice

I was in Dayton last year.

Pedulla is much stronger and more confident. He doesn't yield to pressure
King of Hokies 12/08/22 01:51 PM ET
That’s why I said all last year that Storm was valuable even though he

Don't sleep on Aluma

But Basile is much better shot blocker and 3 point shooter. I Loved Aluma
uber hokie 12/08/22 01:06 PM ET
Basile is taller/longer, but not a "much better shot blocker" not even
King of Hokies 12/08/22 01:28 PM ET
Gotta disagree. Basile looked AT LEAST as physical vs Dayton last night as
hokiepro 12/08/22 02:55 PM ET
Agree except I believe that C of C was most physical game of the year. I
uber hokie 12/09/22 09:10 AM ET
Eh...stats say other wise on blocks.
vthokieq 12/08/22 02:44 PM ET
Yeah, I was wrong to say "better shot blocker." I should have said "better
King of Hokies 12/08/22 02:48 PM ET
Doesn’t that have as much to do with learning this defensive system and
hokiepro 12/08/22 02:57 PM ET
I don’t think anyone would argue that.
vthokieq 12/08/22 02:55 PM ET
Didn’t say he was a better defender just a better shot blocker( huge
uber hokie 12/08/22 02:31 PM ET
I concede, see above.**
King of Hokies 12/08/22 02:49 PM ET
Vs Dayton: Aluma 0 blocks, Basile 4
hokiepro 12/08/22 02:19 PM ET
You know you can't do that, right? I'm not going to even explain why.**
King of Hokies 12/08/22 02:24 PM ET
You know you can’t just claim one guy is obviously better than the other
hokiepro 12/08/22 02:48 PM ET
Grant Basile vs Cleveland State: 3 Reb, 0 shots blocked. I guess Grant
King of Hokies 12/08/22 02:54 PM ET
Ok, so what concrete evidence do you have that Basile is “not close”
hokiepro 12/08/22 03:00 PM ET
It's not just the scheme. Some of it is fundamental to good defense. Young
King of Hokies 12/08/22 03:50 PM ET
I see him as inconsistent but capable
hokiepro 12/08/22 03:59 PM ET
No one said he was incapable. It's just don't describe him as "as good as"
King of Hokies 12/08/22 04:01 PM ET
I was looking mainly at Basile's ability to block shots down low ...
Hokiestud 12/08/22 01:06 PM ET
It's not just rotations that Basile isn't as good in. His on-ball defense
