Apologies for missing this...

Depends how much it is tbh If it's an amount that will get VT in the top 10, I would put it towards "things"...things that would jump out in recruiting visits. Barber shops, mini-golf, luxury busses for trips, etc. And then use the rest for staffing If it just gets them in the upper third of the ACC, then I would put it towards staffing. Adding new positions that will take things off the plate for the current staff and allow people to specialize in one thing. For example, someone designated solely to reaching out to recruits, coaches, families, etc on a daily basis. Someone designated to breaking down film of all opponents in real time, so when it comes time for an assistant to scout, they can go to that person to get a jump on the process. Most importantly, I would hire a NIL coach, someone designated to helping the athletes market themselves, giving them specific advice on how to approach companies for deals, how to read contracts when deals are presented, someone to guide them through the process. I know VT has a generic campaign to do this, but someone designated specifically for basketball will make things more streamlined and allow for a tool to use in the recruiting world pointing specifically to someone who will help them make money who is here for them and only for them

Kind of misleading...sub in buzz's staff salary and we move to what?

VT is 13th out of 15 in staff salaries...
GCHokie34 06/15/22 09:38 AM ET
My point is this is mainly a staff $$ comparison, e.g, A&M and Buzz in...

You're very close but drawing the wrong conclusion...
GCHokie34 06/14/22 04:34 PM ET
you are right, but what's percentage of recruiting cost to total expense?
icelus 06/14/22 05:09 PM ET
Parking at ROA isn't a budget breaker. The west end of RIC is 35 to 40

Could be wrong, but I don't think that's part of bball budget
GCHokie34 06/14/22 01:41 PM ET
Yeah, it's not basketball specific. Unless they dole it out between sports
hoosnowahokie 06/14/22 02:21 PM ET
