Buzz and Greenberg seemed to have cemented a baseline culture of the program from day one that nobody gets a schollie, nobody gets a jersey, and nobody gets PT unless they are at a bare minimum committed to 100% effort at all times on the defensive end. Is that not possible in today’s ncaab culture? Sure was something that was easy to get behind as a fan. Regardless of the myriad other things that could go wrong during a game or a season (injuries, shooting, turnovers, missed FTs) … there was a baseline identity and culture there. This team is absolutely severely lacking in that regard and that’s a coaching problem - whether it’s recruitment, culture, etc or simply whiffing on so much eval that we literally don’t have the leverage to have guys nipping at anyone’s heels or pull them out of the game even if they are completely out to lunch on defense …
