And this is arguably the most logical take I have seen on this board. Dorn and Pasha not panning out means this roster has major holes. Then when you play 6 games all season without missing a starter, the roster is practically butchered. We have seen our major weaknesses exploited against good (more talented teams). And you can point fingers and say that players not panning out falls on the coach, but the players that we can go out and get are already limited as is, and for many other teams it’s next man up. We don’t have that luxury. I’m sure everyone remembers when one of the highest rated recruits in tech history, Rodney Rice, bailed TWO WEEKS before the season started. That forced true freshman MJ Collins into a role he wasn’t ready for; the season was practically doomed before it even started. Point is: when a team with limited resources, like us, faces adversity it hurts our program more than others. You’ve all seen the news, tech is the 12th best job in the ACC. Mike Young has met or exceeded expectations every single year he’s been here. We all know this. The only difference is some fans expect him to beat expectations every single year and compete for ACC titles, it seems. And so even in a season where we have lost just one game we shouldn’t have, fans are outraged. They would rather fire Young and spend a decade trying to find the next Buzz Williams. A coach who will leave, as soon as big boys come knocking. I truly don’t believe we have seen a MY team that’s not had to overcome extreme amounts of adversity. I’m open to hear other people’s opinion. But I think OP and I’s stance is the most logical.
