1. This is the most repeated and silly question. Look at the replay. The ball was thrown to the side. Maybe Lawal was back guarding against a long pass to the front court. Wouldn't it make sense to have him guarding that kind of play as well? 2. To get it to our best free throw shooters. It worked once. The other time it was a jump ball and retained possession. 3. Hammond is very quick. He forced him to get the ball in the back court and ran along side him the entire way. It was clear he was told to avoid contact so as not to foul him. If he goes running at Miller, Miller could have drawn a foul. Bedford would have been told the same thing. Hammond forced Miller to take a running half court, a very low % shot. And he made it. Much greater odds of him making 2 FTs had he been fouled. 4. Why not? He's 6'9", and generally a good passer. I understand the desperation to find a culprit here. But, the mistakes were made by players, not the coach. Not sure changing players in these situations would have increased our odds of winning.
