Against overmatched teams he plays bully ball but against Butler, Dayton, Maryland he was not good….in fact he was bad. He’s a euro whiner too. Grunloh is possibly a worse matchup because he moves well which is not a strength of Dorn or Gurdak. Fortunately Grunloh is pretty soft so both our 5s can push him out. I doubt you see Hammond off the floor when Mallory is playing. He’s probably the only guy we have that will stay in front of Mallory. Mallory can be very ball dominant when playing against guys who can prevent him from going past them and the offense bogs down. Without Lawal UVA has the advantage mainly because they’re deeper (although we have developed frontcourt depth with Lawal out) but if the Cassell gets loud it should be a good one. ** Edited by millmtnhokie at 12/27/2025, 3:46:25 PM
