Again, this is why that discussion about turning down the NIT was always bonkers. You don't stop recruiting at any point and you're not so consumed with things to do that you don't have time to recruit. VT is actively recruiting against Sweet 16 schools currently for portal additions. If anything, you would want to find a market and commit during the tournament before players who are in the tournament make the decision to transfer and dilute your market.
