Obviously, an important thing to use the early season games to figure out what works and what might not work as well but it probably contributed to the offensive drought and inconsistency in the mid-section of the game. I really look forward to watching Lawal this season. Plenty of rawness for sure but his intensity, both in how he plays and how he communicates, was neat to watch. He made a big difference just lurking under the basket on defense. Lost count of the number of times Del St drove to the hoop, saw him there and thought better of it. I do worry a bit, with our youth at guard, how we responded and will respond to being pressured. I am curious about our strategy against their 3/4 court pressure. It seemed to me like we continuously pushed the ball right into their trap and forced long, interceptable passes in response. Maybe not seeing that was the scouting miss Young mentioned.
